Union Internationale des Guides et Scouts d'Europe
Our History
We are proud members of a unique movement known as the Union Internationale des Guides et Scouts d'Europe - Fédération du Scoutisme Européen (UGISE - FSE). Founded in 1956. Our program foundation comes from Father Jacques Sevin and other members of the Catholic community. The Federation of Scouts of Europe (FSE) was founded as a Catholic organization in Cologne, Germany, following the Second World War.
Following a series of reforms in the 1960s, the newly founded group, under the leadership of Pierre Géraud-Keraod, affirmed the group's willingness to embrace and live the Catholic faith.
It would be a few decades before a group in North America is founded (1999), a few years preceding recognition from the Holy See.
